Old Kuala Lumpur Walk
From a humble, small tin mining settlement town, Kuala Lumpur has transformed itself into a renowned metropolitan city in the world. This walk will explore the history behind the early street names and key attractions in the old Kuala Lumpur town.
Plan
Meet and Greet at the entrance of Central Market.
This walk will be conducted in a chronological manner covering the period of early 1800s till early 1900s.
The walk will cover the following areas:
Early settlement area along the river, river confluence, early Chinese Settlement, the historic triangle, Chinatown and finally the Colonial buildings along Jalan Raja. As we walk past these areas history about that area will be narrated along with various development that have taken place over the years till the present day.
We shall end our walk with a mouth-watering banana leaf meal at Little India within Old Kuala Lumpur.
