Melaka Walking Tour

Cultural Enclaves

Since Melaka was an important port in the east and became a trader’s paradise, it indirectly brought together various ethnic customs and traditions which blended perfectly.

Many decendants of these cultures, the Peranakan Chinese, the Portuguese, the Chitty Indians and local Malays, still live harmoniously with the traditions and customs that have been practised over generations.

Meet and Greet at the Mural in Jalan Laksamana close to Church of St Francis Xavier

The tour starts at the Portuguese Settlement in Ujong Pasir, followed by the Chitty’s Settlement in Gajah Berang.

After having an authentic Baba Nyonya lunch, we shall visit a Baba Nyonya Museum followed by a river cruise trip to the Malay Settlement in Kg. Morten.
